Winner: Ken Gummer ELEPHANT MUSEUM Postcard On April 24, 1778, a group of Dutch intellectuals established a scientific institution under the name Bataviaasch Genotschap van Kunsten en Wetenschappen, (Batavia Society for Arts and Science). This private body had the aim of promoting research in the field of arts and sciences, especially in history, archaeology, ethnography and physics, and publish the various findings. In the 1862 the Dutch East Indian government decided to build a new museum that would not only serve as an office but also could be used to house, preserve and display the collections. The Museum was officially opened in 1868 and became known as Gedung Gajah (Elephant House) or Gedung Arca (House of Statues). It was called Gedung Gajah on account of the bronze elephant statue in the front yard donated by King Chulalongkorn from Thailand in 1871. It was also called Gedung Arca because a great variety of statues from different periods are on display in the house. (Source: www.museumnasional.org)

Winner: Yvonne Sagen REPTILE POSTCARD AND BEADS KEYCHAIN I'm auctioning the last postcard I have from Bali Reptile Park. Also, a cute Komodo Dragon's beads keychain I bought from WWF Indonesia Fund Raising. Bali Reptile Park claims to have the most complete collection of reptiles in Southeast Asia. They have an 8 meter reticulated python, which is certainly one of the largest snakes in captivity. There is also an extensive collection of Indonesia monitor lizards in addition to the world-renowned Komodo Dragons. The Park includes an open air area where guests are encouraged to interact with tame iguanas, crocodile monitors, water monitors, and tortoises. The serpent cave houses one of the largest collections of venomous snakes in the world.

Winner: Crimson Kat Garnet ART POSTCARD & BOOKMARK I'm auctioning a postcard of Malaysian Pride (see next paragraph for details) and a Prosperity bookmark by Malaysian artist, Fong Lee Li. Brief desc of the postcard: Comprising of several famous landmarks and heritage icons in Malaysia : - Petronas Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur : The world’s tallest twin towers, stand at a height of 452 metres and is of 88 storeys. Linked by a 58 metre skybridge at the 41st-42nd level, its arch support forms a symbolic gateway to the city centre of KL. - Ubudiah Mosque (1913), Perak : Reputed to be one of the most beautiful mosques in Malaysia and a symbol of great pride and faith for all Muslims in Perak. The mosque’s magnificent golden dome and minarets are testaments to the beauty of Islamic architecture. - Penang Clock Tower : The moorish-style clocktower at the junction of Lebuh Light and Lebuh Pantai is sixty feet tall, one foot for each year of Queen Victoria's reign. - Trishaw : A popular form of transport in many states in Malaysia namely Malacca, Kelantan, Terengganu, and a must for sightseeing around Penang’s Georgetown.

Winner: Crimson Kat Garnet KECAK DANCE postcard What makes the Kecak special is that the accompanying music is provided by the human voice, a choir of a hundred men or more sitting in concentric circles, swaying, standing up, lying prone as the story develops. It's originated in 1930's and the performers wearing checked cloth around their waists, percussively chanting "cak" and throwing up their arms, depicts a battle from the Ramayana where the monkey-like, Vanara helped Prince Rama fight the evil King Ravana.
