I know I've been gone a lot lately. A combination of household projects and a general distaste for the computer have conspired to keep me away. I do miss all my hp friends and I will be back on a regular basis soon. I want to take a moment to thank Raven for the beautiful tied hemp necklace and bracelet she sent me!!! I love the knot work! (Expect a package from me soon... as I firmly believe that no good deed goes unpunished. *wink-LOL) Nokturnal Raven"My Cheryl"

Warning: Don't buy LG products! About 6 months ago my husband purchased an LG Flat Panel monitor/TV. He loves it... so much in fact, that I went and bought him the matching surround sound/dvd system. We've had it for 3 1/2 months now. 2 weeks ago the remote quit working. I don't know what happened. One minute it was fine and the next nothing. It wouldn't control anything. No off/on, no volume, no anything. So I called the 800 number thats on the bottom of the box. I was told that the "1 year parts warranty" does not cover the remote control unit. I would have to buy another. Well, I didn't have the money at the time so I decided to wait. In the mean time we took it up to Best Buy where I bought it. The salesman there told us that the remote control was considered a part and that LG would replace it within the year it was purchased. So we went home and called LG again. This time they first told us that the remote was not covered, then changed their tune when my husband argued with them and said that it was only covered for 90 days and since we were 4 days past that, we would have to buy another. He demanded to speak to a supervisor and was informed, by Samuel the customer service rep, that he didnt have to let him speak to a supervisor and was not going to let him. This went on for a while until samuel started getting beligerant and yelling into the phone, at which point a supervisor did intervene, but gave us the same song and dance as the rep. He did tell us that it states clearly on the warranty information in the manuel that the remote is only covered for 90 days. We looked it up afterward and found nothing to that effect. All it says is that all parts were warranted for 1 year and LG would replace "at their discretion" any parts found to be defective. You know what "at their discretion" really means? ... SUCKERRRRRRRR!!!!!!! Buyer Beware!!! Avoid LG appliances and electronics unless you like throwing money away on expensive crap equipment and waisting time arguing with beligerant jerks!!!
