With all of the layoffs and plant closings of this economy, anyone that has a job right now is very fortunate. But how are people who are unhappy with their employers supposed to make it through each day going to a job they don’t want to go to? Colossians 3:23-24 says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving”. Therefore, if you keep your focus on remembering you are working for the Lord and not your boss, you can continue to go to work every day knowing in the end you will receive your inheritance from the Lord! Sometimes people get worked up over things they have no control over. It’s during those times that they must remember who their Father is. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. When you know who your Father is, you can remain calm and cool! Be Blessed!!!

Nobody likes a conceited person. It is a definite turnoff when a person talks about or brags on themselves all the time. “For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted”. “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and He will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.” Be Blessed!!!

Oftentimes when you receive a word from God, it doesn’t come into fruition until several years later. I know that doesn’t sound very encouraging, but you must learn to trust God and His timing. A delay is not a denial, so don’t try to make things happen on your own. “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”! Be Blessed!!!

We’ve all heard the saying, “when the going gets tough, the tough get going”. If we use that logic in living our daily lives, then we will realize we can’t afford to give up when things get hard. Life can be difficult and hard at times, there is no denying that. However, “nothing is too hard for God”. So, if we rely on that assurance, we will have the strength to press on, because the “joy of the Lord is your strength”! Be Blessed!!!
