Among many "firsts" the first dream of the New Year is revered in Japan as a sign of things to come. It is called "Hatsuyume." If you dream of Mt. Fuji, a hawk, and an eggplant in that order it is believed that you will have a lucky year. Of course.. that's strange enough for me.
