darkness falls throughout the city to close down the streets, sending everyone home to their lives and their loves, as i cross the threshold of my own door i feel the first droplet of the oncoming rain touching my skin so tenderly, the droplets fall more intensely now as I stand there and watch, only for a few minutes as that's all it takes to drench, me to the core. I sit on the outside step as the rain pours down on me, I just allow the cleansing, after all i am not sugar so therefore i will not melt, not today anyways....
