M- NooOOoo.. Men don't have babies, if they wanted a baby they'd have to adopt.
O- Ah OK..................... I think I'll Marry a man when I grow up then.

World vegan Day is Nov 1st this year, ever think about coming over to the dark side?? Yes there ARE vegan cookies!
The FB events page is mine and I plan to run a series of blog posts covering everything FOOD from home made gourmet to junk food on the go.
Its a Meat eater and vegetarian friendly page so no hating for not being vegan (I'll delete any posts and comments alongthose lines) just a place to get some eating information. Be glad to have you along :D xx

There was nearly a blip.

A small but significant one.

So stupid.

An argument, not even really that, a tiff over a car he wanted to buy. I point out its boot has no room for the dogs, he gets sniffy... I ruined his good idea with practicality.
So we go on, to the shop where he said "I NEED a beer." and buys one.

I glare, he ignores me.
In the car I cross my arms and stare ahead, not wanting to pick a fight in front of the kids.

"whats wrong?"
He knows whats wrong. His face has that shut down , defensive look, his eyes are everywhere but looking into mine.

"You know what."
"The beer?"
Nod.
"Fine, I'll throw it if it will make YOU happy."
"Not the point."
He half tries to make up, asks for a smile, I give it too him but its small. I'm not ready to give anymore. I've learnt to ration my forgiveness in the past.
He closes the door and shakes his head, he smiles in a smirking way.
"Just let it go, its pathetic."

Its like a slap to the face.... and he was going so well.

At home he apologises, properly this time.
I t ell him that his 10 minutes of pleasure will mean a week of walking on egg shells for me and the kids.
He knows this.
He says he was upset about the car, it was a knee jerk reaction.

We make up.

I pour the beer down the toilet.

He doesn't ask where I put it.

My husband is giving up drinking.
Yes we all know alcohol is a depressant, but it seems to be the one thing he had trouble letting go of.

Alcaholic?

No way. Not in the traditional drunk all the time and hiding it sense anyway.

Lets see. he might go out for 3 or 4 pints once a week, a beer in the evening at home 4 or 5 times a week, a couple in the pub on Sunday afternoons... No binge drinking, no secret bottles of vodka stashed in the toilet sistern.

So whats the big deal?

Alcohol gives you a high, but it also gives you a low (law of physics baby) and when you have depressive tendancies that low gets LOOW and can stay low for days.

So he said he would give it up then he has a couple one afternoon because he "earnt it" and he is like a kid on a sugar rush all afternoon, then come dinner time he is like a puddle of mean gloom on the floor.
Still like it the next day.

Cue huge argument and threats and now he has given up... for now.
