A man walks alone in an endless sea of sand, searching for the truth with no ground on which to stand. He was once full of life, a sparkle in his eye, now he's all alone, fully prepared to die. He looks back on his life, of all the years gone by, when he was young and happy and spry, he had a family once, he liked to remember, or at least try. A wife, a child, a life of happiness owning a small tavern called the Sandfly. Until that fiendish man came calling one feverish night late in July. He was dirty and dangerous, a drifter of the worst kind, only asking for a meal and perhaps some shuteye. All was quiet as the house fell asleep, then all was death as he clutched his dieing family at his feet. He wanders now from town to town, a drifter so to speak, the dangerous sort you'd never want to meet. Forever looking for the man that stole the sparkle from his eye the happiness from his heartbeat.
