Thanksgiving... that time of year when we sit around the table, and somebody of some sort of parental sort leads us all in a round of telling the rest of the family what we're thankful for. My list is a bit different than the usual, of course...

I AM THANKFUL FOR...
...Lungs, 'cause being a land-dwelling biped with gills would be awkward.
...People who don't like me, because if everyone liked me, I'd be a big, malleable lie.
...Monkeys. They inspire me.
...The gift (and curse) of Empathy.
...Sanity. This is open to interpretation, so I can still claim it...
...Family. Everyone needs a laugh now and again.
...A... different... perspective on life.
...Facebook. Because what else would I do with my time? Oh, yeah... productive things...
...A sense of humor that lets me appreciate even the dark times in life.
...A God who obviously has a similar sense of humor. He made me...
...Knowing that death is a new adventure, and looking forward to meeting it one day.
...Label makers. Hours of fun in a bit of plastic.
...A job working with recovering addicts that pays a pittance and takes up all my time.
...Each new breath without cigarettes.
...Did I mention monkeys...?

*Notice*

I don't care really who owns me. So if you buy me, unless you make a convincing argument and manage to change my mind, I'm not gonna escape and run back... I'll just stick with the owner I'm currently with. Way I see it, the more people buy me, buy me back, and so on... the more I'm worth!! *Grin*

My pets are mostly friends I know in real life. So if you want to buy one, I have no problem with this... after all, the more people buy me, the more I'm worth, and who am I to begrudge others this as well? In fact, some of my friends might actually be enticed to add Human Pets if they ended up with a notification that some mysterious stranger bought them. If they request otherwise, that's up to them. As far as I'm concerned, they're all potentially up for sale unless they decide differently.
