Can a Wolf Play Hockey? The answer is a resounding "yes." Now, to how well that wolf may play hockey depends on if you're talking about me or one of the four-legged ones. To be completely honest, I was previously on a team named the Wolves. Our pack was wild and fierce, however we also were the weakest link in the intermural hockey league. And so the Wolves became endangered, the pack was split apart, and its members scattered to the remaining three teams. With still too many wolves without a pack, we were herded to the new team, labeled the Hammerheads (and some of us think that the Mighty Ducklings would've been a better suited name). And so, I give you three of us Wolves prowl and fight under this name, but we always have the Wolves in our heart. But, I got sidetracked... So, can a wolf play hockey? Yeah, a wolf or a whole bunch of them can. What happens when the only female wolf plays hockey? Well, sometimes the guys take it easy on her. And then sometimes, like last night, she gets just as fierce as the rest of them, gets shoulder-checked a couple of times, hurts her right wrist and surprisingly doesn't twist her ankle (that's usually the first thing I do). So, for a long story short, that's why the wolfess is injured. Because a wolf -can- play hockey and run with the best of them even in a niche in which she's not accustomed.

This Poor Little Wolf I suppose titling these things could make it easier to distinguish what's going on, since I like to write a lot anyway, hehe.... Generally I'm very optimistic, but this Christmas break from college has driven me up the wall. Between coming home to find out bad news about my mother (not horrible news, but bad nonetheless) to the oven dying and even hearing about a close family member passing away the weekend before Christmas, it was quite trying. I suppose worrying only made me feel worse, driving my mom crazy as she could get and only making me stress out more. Now I'm sitting here, wishing I still had a fake den made out of giant stacks of rolled fabric to retreat to instead of straightforward facing whatever comes at me. It's somewhat discouraging especially with all my dreams being thrown back in my face. No, I'm not trying to make you feel sorry for me. Heh, not my style. I like to inform, that's what we wolves do. We inform others of what's been going on in effort to keep you from getting attacked for saying or doing the wrong thing. Yeah, it's cool getting the pity party every so often, but that's not my main objective, ever. I suppose I just wanted to howl out to all those who'd listen. I mean, you listened, halfway, right? Heh, just gotta keep smiling and now that things will eventually work out for the better. Hopefully, it will fall into place before the damage gets done.

I suppose I've always been a wolf. Someone who can survive alone but thrives with others. My girls and I are my pack. We generally hit the club once a week, while in school, and we travel a good hour and a half away to prowl. Heh, very interesting when we cross a good set of guys who can dance and hang with these Chowan girls. Who knows, maybe one night you'll cross me and my girls.
