So this afternoon, I wandered into the kitchen in search of something to snack on. I picked up my brand new box of Kix cereal and, as I munched away, I looked out the window and saw my dog sitting in front of the door as though he'd committed some horrible deed. Then I noticed his broken food bowl and the dog food scattered all over the backyard.

I thought "oh, crap. He's done it again. Now I've got to go clean up that mess and fetch him another bowl." But as I was turning around to set my cereal box back on the kitchen table, my foot got caught in my extremely baggy pant leg and I tripped.

I went down like a slab of wood.

That wasn't even the worst part though. When I got up, guess what I saw? The whole kitchen floor including part of the hallway leading off to the living room was completely covered in little round Kix bites. Yeah.

Outside the window, my dog's staring at his sea of dog food in mortification at the thought of the inevitable admonishment he'd receive. Meanwhile, inside the window, I'm squatting down staring at my flood of Kix and kind of feeling the urge to bang my head sharply against a chair leg.

Me: HOLY SHIT, MY CEREAL.

My dog: HOLY SHIZAZZLES, MY DOG FOOD. AND BOWL.

It was funny in retrospect, after I swept up the Kix and doggie nibbles. (: But I did retain a minor bruise on my knee as a souvenir. Hahahaha :D

Moral of the story: kiddies, buy boulder-sized cereal. They're easier to pick up if you spill like me.

Results for UCD came in today. I got accepted! :D

I spent most of the day wandering through the house wide-eyed, pinching myself and devouring a bagel. I haven't decided if I'm going to settle for Davis, since it's still too early for that. But it's not helping that I can't recall anything from my campus tour beyond the smell of food, the smell of rain, the nice umbrella the campus guide let me borrow (but not take home), and-who can forget-the smell of compost. (:

After the kitchen cleared out, I snuck back inside around 9 PM to bake an oven-full of brownies. Quite a number of people weren't too happy with Davis's final verdict, but that's why I have brownies for all of you! Food cures, in this case.

To those of you who made it into UCD, congratulations and keep up those grades! You've got less than a semester left of senior year, so don't blow it!

To those of you who didn't make it in, don't despair. The other UCs haven't announced their decisions, so it's not over yet. Stuff yourself with brownies tomorrow and hang in there! In the meantime, please enjoy:

Wishing on a Star - Wonder Girls


This isn't WG's best MV, but I thought it was cute and the story behind it was certainly touching. This was based on Sohee's loner scandal. (If, you're not familiar with WG, Sohee's the one in the lovely white coat.) There were rumors circulating around that she was being alienated by the other girls because they didn't like her. Despite that being false, people still bashed Sohee to pieces online and repeatedly posted malicious comments about her. Naturally, when she read those posts, Sohee was hurt. But luckily, there was one person loyal enough to constantly send her supportive messages and encourage her to stay strong. Sohee didn't know the person, but she was thankful toward him/her. Eventually, she came to learn the identity of her mysterious supporter when she returned home one day and found Sunmi's (the girl at the very beginning; also one of WG's members) laptop sitting open on the table. Sohee scanned the screen out of curiosity and discovered that Sunmi had been the one sending the encouraging messages. Isn't that sweet? :)
