Ok...so what's in a name you say..."What's behind the name Athlordian?", I hear you ask time and time again. I have given brief explanations to some of you, but here goes the full, 100% official breakdown of where it comes from...
The word, or name in fact, is something I constructed when I was thinking of registering a unique nick/handle for internet & gaming purposes. I gave it some thought and decided to come up with a name, that had to not only sound like it belonged to me, but it had to also somehow sound like it described me, it had to be me and represent me and what I stand for, all at the same time! That's asking a lot from just one word...so...enter the word "Athlordian".
"But what does it mean Francois?"
"Athlordian" can be split into 4 (four) different sections: Ath - lord - (i - an)
The "Ath" in the beginning, comes from the word "Atheist", which is basically just a person who denies or disbelieves the existence of a supreme being or beings. For those of you who still think that atheists are people who slaughter babies and kittens, feel free to google the word. You may learn something new for a change...be brave...remove the blinkers of faith...and live a little!
The "lord" part comes from the word "Lord" (duh...obviously), which has a range of meanings that include, but is not limited to, a person who has authority, control, or power over others; a person who is a leader or has great influence in a chosen profession; a feudal superior or a supreme being (let's call him a god, not God, just a god)!
The letter "i" is there to represent the word "I", which is a nominative singular pronoun, normally used by a speaker when referring to him or herself.
The "an" at the end, originally started as "am", like "Atheist lord I am", but it just did not have the sweet, untainted, old english, poetic ring to it that I was looking for, so I dropped the "m" and replaced it with the letter "n". This didn't only sound better, but it also now gave me a suffix to work with. The last 3 letters in the word (*ian) serve as the suffix denoting "one from, belonging to, relating to something". For instance, in the word "Politician", the suffix "ian" would point to a person belonging to or relating to politics...so the "ian" in the word "Athlordian" would indicate or point to one from, belonging to or relating to Atheism...get it?
I'm also all about contradictions and irony...so having a word made up from elements of "atheism" and the word "lord" is a complete paradox and a fantastic mindfuck...and something which ultimately resolves itself upon later inspection! Shit...I wonder how many of you actually got what that means...anyway...there you are then...any questions?
