About me:
I am both a Piscean and a Snake and most archetypically so in both cases. I don't really believe in astrology as such, but sometimes reading my sign brief is just plain creepy in the accuracy with which it describes me. Write that "all people born in x month are so and so" and the law of averages demands that the statement must be true for someone, right? I guess I'm that person. Twice. --> I tend to make new friends fairly easily, but have trouble holding on to them. I guess it's because I'm always ready to assume the best of people; of just about anyone really. I have very little faith in humanity at large, but will give the benefit of the doubt to any individual who displays a hint of empathy. This makes me motivated and 'fun' around new people - despite my almost charicaturistic introversion, and the very real and sincere interest i have in people's ideas and life experiences probably makes them feel good about themselves to some extent too, but because I assume the best of people, I always expect too much - unrealistically so - and somewhere down the track I end up disapointed. --> It takes a long time for me to lose faith in someone. I WANT to believe in people, so when they let me down in some small way I make excuses for them. Rather than just accepting the vices in people I try to explain them away. Excuses pile upon excuses and the person I build them up to be in my mind ends up quite different from the actual person. Inevitably I am forced to admit that people aren't who I think they are, and rather than just let down I feel betrayed because i've built myself up to think so highly of them in a way that was never true, and once that happens it's all bad. I get surly and uncommunicative and just wait for them to go away. most of the time they do.

As told by Aristoxenus, and after him Cicero and others, around the 4th century BC, Pythias and his friend Damon, both followers of the philosopher Pythagoras, traveled to Syracuse. Pythias was accused of plotting against the tyrant of Syracuse, Dionysius I. As punishment for this crime, Pythias was sentenced to death. Accepting his sentence, Pythias asked to be allowed to return home one last time, to settle his affairs and bid his family farewell. Not wanting to be taken for a fool, Dionysius refused, believing that once released, Pythias would flee and never return. Risking his own freedom for his best friend, Damon proposed that Dionysius hold him hostage until Pythias returned. Dionysius agreed, on the condition that, should Pythias not return when promised, Damon would be put to death in his place. Damon agreed, and Pythias was released. Dionysius was convinced that Pythias would never return, and as the day Pythias promised to return came and went, Dionysius prepared to execute Damon. But just as the executioner was about to kill Damon, Pythias returned. Apologizing to his friend for his delay, Pythias told of how pirates had captured his ship on the passage back to Syracuse and thrown him overboard. Dionysius listened to Pythias as he described how he swam to shore and made his way back to Syracuse as quickly as possible, arriving just in the nick of time to save his friend. Dionysius was so taken with the friends' trust and loyalty, that he freed both Damon and Pythias, and kept them on as counsel to his court.

This probably doesn't mean much to people who don't know me well, but here's a bit of an example of these scary-accurate horroscopes I was talking about. Pisceans possess a gentle, patient, malleable nature. They have many generous qualities and are friendly, good natured, kind and compassionate, sensitive to the feelings of those around them, and respond with the utmost sympathy and tact to any suffering they encounter. They are deservedly popular with all kinds of people, partly because their easygoing, affectionate, submissive natures offer no threat or challenge to stronger and more exuberant characters. They accept the people around them and the circumstances in which they find themselves rather than trying to adapt them to suit themselves, and they patiently wait for problems to sort themselves out rather than take the initiative in solving them. They are more readily concerned with the problems of others than with their own.

...Their natures tend to be too otherworldly for the practical purposes of living in this world as it is. They sometimes exist emotionally rather than rationally, instinctively more than intellectually (depending on how they are aspected). They long to be recognized as greatly creative. They also dislike disciple and confinement. The nine-to-five life is not for them. Any rebellion they make against convention is personal, however, as they often times do not have the energy or motivation to battle against the Establishment.

...Pisceans tend to withdraw into a dream world where their qualities can bring mental satisfaction and sometimes, fame and financial reward for they are extremely gifted artistically. They are also versatile and intuitive, have quick understanding, observe and listen well, and are receptive to new ideas and atmospheres. All these factors can combine to produce remarkable creativity in literature, music and art. They may count among their gifts mediumistic qualities which can give them a feeling that their best work comes from outside themselves, "Whispered beyond the misted curtains, screening this world from that." Even when they cannot express themselves creatively they have a greater than average instinct for, and love of, beauty in art and nature, a catlike appreciation of luxury and pleasure, and a yearning for new sensations and travel to remote, exotic places.

...They are never egotistical in their personal relationships and give more than they ask from their friends. They are sexually delicate, in the extreme almost asexual, and most Pisceans would want a relationship in which the partner's mind and spirit rather than the body resonated with their own. Unfortunately they can be easily misled by a lover who courts them delicately and in marriage makes them unhappy by a coarser sexuality than they expected. They are nevertheless intensely loyal and home-loving and will remain faithful.
