Hands up who had a crap 2010.

Well, today is the anniversary of the day things fell apart for me. The day my wife claims that I abused her.

I've decided that this year I am going to have a more positive outlook on life, even if things aren't as good as they could be. I mean, I could have a wife that loves me, have a permanent job that I love, and who knows what else?

Instead I have a wife that I never see or speak to (as she disappears whenever I'm in the house), a long-term temporary contract with a local council, which is good, but takes me an hour to get to and from work each day, and a house that, although lovely, I feel will never truly be a home while we're both here.

It looks like there will end up being only one option for us. The D word. 7 letters.

And you know what? I think that might be the best thing for all concerned. Before anyone else gets hurt.

Hello all.

Sorry again that it's been so long since I've been on here.

My words of my last update seem eerily prophetic now.

Three weeks ago, my wife was taken to hospital. She had taken 76 paracetemol overnight while I was sleeping. She called them the following morning to tell them what she had done, which I was unaware of until the evening after returning from work.

She didn't want to see me or her family, but was happy to see her friend (who she listed as her next of kin), who told her parents after much soul searching, and got abuse from the nurse for having to think about telling her parents.

She has been drinking a lot. A LOT. As in, first thing in the morning and one of the last things at night.

She's been telling people lots of different things, including things about me, which I won't go into, turning her friends against her family. When they were forced together during the weekend, some of those lies have come to light. As such, she doesn't want certain people talking to others.

What the hell happened? We were supposed to be happy in our home, but she seems hellbent on her own destruction.

To all those that I have talked to recently, and have been following me on here, I would like to apologise for not being on for over a month.

Things haven't been going well IRL. My wife has been diagnosed with depression, and on the day she was, nearly 5 weeks ago, she told me that she wanted to separate.

Even though part of me expected it, it was still a shock.

I have been desperately trying to hold it together, but fortunately I have had people that I have been able to talk to and trust to give me advice and comfort.

So to those people, who include of all people my mother, with whom I had a bit of a stormy relationship in the past, I am immeasurably grateful.

I'm still not entirely certain that it was my wife talking, if that makes sense, or at least not for the reasons that she gave. I think that she has been doing her best to isolate herself from everyone who cares about her, including the rest of her family.

I am worried that she will harm herself if someone isn't around to keep an eye on her (as it has been that bad recently).

Even if she doesn't want my help, I am still going to look out for her, and see how things go.
