"Oh, I was supposed to put something witty here? My bad..."
About me:
Erm... Guten Tag! Nach Sie kennenzulernen! -waves wildly- I'm a bookworm with a love for 19th century Russian lit. and medieval/fantasy. I'm an American who'd like to move to Europe some day. I'm a freshman at USM, with the intention of becoming a language major; I'm obsessed with languages, especially Russian and German. I also want to learn: Hungarian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Italian, Japanese, and Swedish [just to name a few, that is]. I also enjoy making figure skating montages of my two favourite skaters - Evgeni Plushenko, and Evan Lysacek. My user name on youtube is rabekriegerin. I'm a musician who has been playing percussion since early middle school, and, most recently, I have taken up playing the violin - although my skills on that lovely instrument leave much to be desired! I love the out-of-doors, and when I'm not inside practising my instruments, I can often be found horseback riding, rock climbing, hiking, or shooting trap. Please Note: I don't like people trying to buy me away. Cease and desist, please. Persist, and I shall set it upon myself to sink my sharp little fangs into your ankles. Enjoy what's left of your life.
About you:
Seeing as I'm quite the geek, I like to talk to those likewise obsessed by all things geeky or nerdy. Computers, literature, politics, current affairs, random little-known facts.... etc. A dry sense of humour is a must for my friends, as well as an appreciation for sarcasm! Pet me, and I'll pet'cha back. ^_^
Germany was awesome! I've been turned on to football, and I loved watching the EuroCup finals. I was a little bummed that Spain won, though, but oh well. The weather was very sporadic over there - you couldn't tell from one minute to the next how it would play out.
Likewise the UK was amazing! I loved my time over there, and I can't wait to go back one day! I actually liked the weather pretty well - the rain was rather nice. I went to London, York, and Edinburgh. I wasn't too keen on London, but York and Edinburgh were brilliant! I'm not sure which I liked better, it was a pretty closed tie. Everyone in the North of Britain was so kind and friendly, it was such a welcoming atmosphere - very stark contrast compared to London, which was in general just unpleasant. The North has definitely captured my heart, though! Unknown"Kinpah"Ecstatic

Just got back from camping, gee, it was fun! We went to Ocracoke Island, which is off the coast of North Carolina. It's a very interesting place - it was Blackbeard the pirate's hide out, and it was where he was killed. It's also home to a unique breed of ponies, as well as having been a part of the American Civil War [aka the War of Yankee Agression Against the South] and WWII. I went and saw the British cemetery while I was there; it was very touching. I'm not completely sure I could describe the emotions I elt while I was there.
The beach was amazing, but after nearly a week of surf and sun, it's nice to be back on the mainland. Much as I adore and treasure my periodical trips to the ocean, I was definitely not born to live there year round.
While we were there I met several nice people- a German professor of geologic technology or something like that, who was camping with his wife at the same place we were; two Russians working at the sweet shop I frequented when we went into town - a guy and a girl. I don't remember the guy's name [started with an I], but he was very cute! Teehee! The girl was Kira, just like me! :D
I'm also mondo excited about my trip to Europe! I leave home tomorrow to fly to Georgia, and I leave for Germany on Wed. After that, I'm headed to the UK! Hurrah! Unknown"Kinpah"Ecstatic

I went to Nate's birthday party yesterday... where we bummed out and went 'hiking' and stuff... Well, I say 'hiking,' but what I mean is that we lit fireworks, went train chasing, and tramped through marshy land that sank beneath our feet...
My my my...
Beware the insane train-chasers!

It's a wee bit sad that I had to *demand* the hugs I should have rightfully been given on hug-a-redhead day! ='[ Unknown"Kinpah"Ecstatic
