The Jade Emperor became very angry when he heard of the actions of the dragons. "How dare they bring water to those undeserving creatures without my permission!" He called for his generals to gather his armies and attack the dragons. The dragons saw the armies coming, and, seeing themselves outnumbered vastly, they surrendered peacefully.
The Jade Emperor screamed at them, "I told you to return to the sea, and you disobeyed me. Now you will be banished from the sea and sky forever. You are very large and powerful dragons, so your cages must be more powerful." He called upon the Mountain God, who called up four mountains with which to lay on top of each of the dragons. These mountains were so massive that no dragon could lift it off himself to escape. Even in their prison, they did not regret there decision to disobey the Jade Emperor, and vowed to help the poor people in any way they could, because the rain had already stopped and the crops were starting to wither again. So they used what little power they had left, and their scales became the riverbeds around the mountains. Their insides became the water, which flowed through the valleys and out to the sea. Thus the dragons, with their last bit of power, became China's four great river-the Heilongjiang(Black Dragon River) in the far north, the Huang(Yellow River) in central China, the Chang(Yangtze, or Long River) further south, and the Zhu(Pearl River) in the very far south.

The Long Dragon then had an idea. "Look, there is plenty of water here in the sea where we live, more than either we or the fish will ever need. Let us scoop it up and spray it towards the sky. The water will fall like raindrops and the people and the crops will be saved." The other dragons agreed, but then the Long Dragon thought again. "If the Jade Emperor discovers what we have done, he will be angry and punish us." The Yellow Dragon replied, "Speaking for myself, I will do anything in my power to save these starving people." The Black and Pearl Dragon agreed. "So be it, " said the Long Dragon. "We shall save the people and hope we do not come to regret it." So they scooped up the water and flew over the land, releasing it from the clouds. The sky darkened and the rain fell onto the people, who cried and danced, "It's raining, its raining, our crops will be saved!" While the four dragons did this, the god of the sea watched, and flew away to the Jade Emperor, to tell him what the Dragons had done. Part four, the finale, next...

The Jade Emperor was annoyed with the dragons, for they were dragons of the sea and should not have interfered with the world of the gods. The Long Dragon came before the Emperor and said, "Forgive us, Your Majesty, but we were playing in the sky and noticed the plight of the humans. We humbly beg you to send rain down quickly, to end their plight." The dragons stayed bowed, awaiting the Jade Emperor's answer. The the Emperor told them to go back to the sea. "I will send some rain down tomorrow. But you must promise not to deal with the gods or the humans again. You are dragons of the sea and there you will stay." So they left the Heavenly Palace and went back to the sea. But they looked to the lands, and no rain came the next day. Or the next day, or the day after. The people were forced to eat the bark from the trees, and when they ran out of those, then they ate white clay. Ten days past since the Jade Emperor's promise, but no rain had come, for the Emperor cared only for his own pleasure. The dragons saw that it would be up to them to save these people from death. Part three next...

The Four Dragons

Once upon a time, there were no rivers or lakes on Earth. The only water on Earth was far off in the Eastern Sea. Four giant dragons lived there: The Long Dragon, who was the leader, the Yellow Dragon, the Black Dragon, and the Pearl Dragon. One day the Four Dragons decided to leave the sea to play in the sky. They soared and dove, playing hide-and-seek in the clouds. They played for so long that they ventured far from the sea. And it was then that the Pearl Dragon saw something that upset him. "Come here quickly," he said. "What is it," the others asked. The Pearl Dragon pointed down from the clouds. There they saw the thousands of people in great sorrow. Their crops were withering, the grass was yellow, and the fields cracked under the scorching sun. But even though the people were starving, some were laying out offerings of fruit and cakes. Others were praying. An old white-haired woman kneeled to the ground with a thin boy on her back and looked to the sky. "Please send rain quickly, God of Heaven, to give our children some rice to eat. Our food is nearly gone, yet we leave you these gifts so you might find it in your kind heart to bring life to our dying village."
The old woman's prayers went unanswered, for the Jade Emperor, whose job it was to oversee all of the happenings on the earth and in the sea, didn't bother to listen to the lowly people. But the four dragons heard their prayers, and they could not ignore them. So they leapt higher into the sky and flew up to the Heavenly Palace. Part two next...

He was born in a small village in the middle of nowhere, to a family too poor to even take completely good car of him. He grew up with now formal education, trained only to perform the duties of his labor by his father. When he was thirty years old, he began to walk around, speaking of peace and associating with those that no one else would.
After three years, his life turned around. The public who grew to love him turned to hate him, the authorities marked him, and even his own friends betrayed him. He was arrested and given a joke of a trial, then abused to the point where he could braely stand up. He was executed in the least humane way possible at the time. While he stood there dying from a combination of asphixia and blood loss, the guards around him gambled for the one item he owned in this world, his cloack. When he died, he was wrapped in a plain cloth, and laid to death in a borrowed tomb.
All the actions of this world, all the kings that ever sat, all the armies that ever marched, all the navies that ever sailed, never equaled the life of this one man.
