hope you take the time to read this because it's a theory on whether or not a person can attain enlightenment through S&M.

There must be a pause to attain enlightenment. For example, in everyday life, if you were about to get into a car accident and your breathing was in, it would stay in. If your breathing was out, it would stay out. Before the two cars collided, breathing would stop. You would not remember yourself, your bank, your work, only that you could die any second. In that moment, there will be a pause. If you can be aware of the pause in that moment, you can attain enlightenment.

Zen Monk have been doing this for yrs with their students. If the students show disrespect, the Master does not get angry. He laughs and dances and is happy. But now, when the student does everything to please the Master and the Master is being Happy and talking with his student, without warning will begin to unmercifully beat his student without warning. In that moment, breathing stops and there is a pause. If the student recognized the pause, he can attain enlightenment.

Which brings me to my question. Can a Master do that to his submissive? Make the atmosphere quiet and calm, even romantic, then without warning beat his submissive unmercilessly...no safe words. (lets assume the sub has expressed interest in attempting this at some point). Do you think it could actually work? I'm curious to hear what you have to say on the subject
