Next to my feet right now are some intriguing things. In a bag, I have some chuka soba—actual ramen noodles, not the instant stuff that you get at the general store for thirty-five cents a pack (the place where I shop was a bit high at the time; the price has since fallen considerably). I also have some seaweed greens, some aka (red) miso, and some firm tofu. I plan on doing something that I've wanted for a while:

Having a bowl of authentic, homemade ramen.

Stuff I still need (more of, anyway): Mushrooms, seaweed (I seriously love the stuff), onions (ditto). ^_^

I've also got some instant miso soup; it'll help me burn through the ramen at the house that has had its seasoning packets summarily ganked. I have to pace myself, of course. I have to make this (instant) miso last until payday.

Had the nerve to to White Castle today. I just thougtht I'd get a little snack, was all, and wound up having about four burgers, two orders of cheese fries, and one cup of surprisingly good coffee.

I might be broker than broke right now (again,) but I think that it was worth it. It was immensely satisfying, and it even did something that made my miso craving vanish for the time being.

It's kind of annoying. For the last week and a half - that is, since before I got paid and after I got stuck with having to keep on a budget - I've be en craving miso soup. It doesn't even have to be particularly flashy miso soup, just as long as it is a soup that contains miso. I've even toyed with the idea of playing around with it.

(…not like that. Pervs.)

I've got a bunch of seasoning-less ramen noodles at the house, and I've been considering getting some instant red miso soup and making miso ramen. It just sounds delicious right about now…tender kombu and tasty noodles, swimming in a rich, savory miso broth.

Godsdamnit, now I'm even hungrier than before.

Yay. I got shoes. I've been walking around with holes in my shoes for about three weeks now, and it was starting to get bad. Luckily this week is pay week so I managed to get three pairs of shoes. All of them need to be broken in…but at least none of them have any holes.

It's amazing what having shoes that don't have holes in them can do for one's mood.
