Fading Feeling

I love you more than words can say,
But slowly my love is fading away.

Going nowhere slowly

Almost thirty four years ago
I entered this world
With a hole in my heart
And a loving parental glow
Over many a year
I’ve learned many a thing
Experienced the good and the sad
Toyed with the light and the drear
I’ve heeded the knell
Of the abyss more than once
My accumulative scars
Have a tenacious tale to tell
My arduous accruals
Amount to naught tangible
But I’ve experienced much love
And battled many diabolical duels
After thirty four years what can I reminisce
I wanted a family and a picket-fenced house
I have nine years of teaching, a car and a dog
Somehow ... I feel that a lot is amiss
