I have been waiting for this book and I ordered it as a recover entertainment from a surgery. Three weeks was given to me for sick holidays :

Description: Punk pushed cultural revolution into the Finnish art in the 1980s. Its unifying force is the Helsinki underground clubs, which have their roots in the Berlin cabaret, the Andy Warhol Factory and European art.

Strong individuals and communities from various fields of art and culture emerged: Esa Saarinen brought the punk spirit to the university, Jorma Uotinen brought Finnish modern dance to the world map, new female artists rose to the limelight and real avant-garde theater performances were born. Things were done in a whole new way and on their own terms.

Helsinki 1984 tells of that time from the mouths of those who played a role in it. The work is an inspired, philosophical and personal experiential account of what happened and where.
