I'm just here to goof around and talk to cool people.
I'm happily married and have two little girls.
I have ADD and I'm a Gemini, so not only do I change topics constantly, I can switch multiple personalities.
I love trivia - I know a very little bit about a lot of things.
I'm a word nerd and a spelling nazi, but it's generally directed internally. I don't go around correcting people. I do cringe when I see too many typos, though.
I love hockey, baseball, MMA, music of just about any kind, LOLcats, FAILs, and the color green.
About you:
You're fun, goofy, and intelligent enough to type in complete sentences.
You are not egotistical, pretentious, or bigoted.
I passed my exam. :) Now I can put "PHR" after my name. :P

I'm not going to be around much for at least the next month. I'm taking a professional certification exam on Dec. 1, and I HAVE to buckle down and study. I'm going to try to check in every day or two, but won't be doing much in the way of spamming or thumbing. I do get e-mail notifications, so if you're really burning to get a hold of me, drop me a message. :) Susan "suzi"still alive... barely

ZOMG The XM station I'm listening to played The REV! HA! Yes, I get this excited whenever I hear the Rev playing on anything other than my own player. This led to about 30-45 minutes of watching Rev stuff on YouTube. XD

I know it says I'm just here to have fun and goof off, but with less than two weeks until Election Day, I feel compelled to make a post. And I'll be honest from the outset, this might come out very rambling. I've tried before to explain why I feel so strongly that we NEED Barack Obama to become President, but it's difficult for me. It's difficult because it seems so obvious to me, and I have a hard time comprehending how anyone else can not see it.
While talking to a good friend of mine about two months ago, I told her that I want so badly to be excited and optimistic, but I have this sense of impending doom. She said, "Democratic Defeat Syndrome. It's like being a Cubs fan."
It's a cute thing to say, but it's very real. She's still in shock that Kerry lost 4 years ago. As she put it, it's like people didn't even acknowledge that the previous 4 years had happened. Hell, I wasn't in shock.
I saw a comment somewhere (I apologize that I don't remember exactly where, but I think it may have been here on HP) to the effect that if we don't elect Obama, we'll be getting what we deserve. I agree with that in principle, but in practice... well, we DID elect Al Gore, but he still didn't become President!
I'm STILL VERY ANGRY about that. How the hell am I supposed to have faith in my government and everyone saying "it's YOUR government!" when it's so obviously NOT??
Sorry, sorry... that's another topic for another time. I did warn you that this might get rambly. I'll try to wrap this up.
Last night in a dream, I was standing outside talking to a very sweet older lady. I didn't know her well, but I liked her very much. She noticed the Obama sticker I have on the reverse side of the Cubs disk I have hanging from my rearview mirror. She was very polite - without being condescending - and asked me why I supported him. It was obvious that she did not, but she wasn't being a jerk about it.
Even in the dream, I struggled to explain it. But I really wanted to. Especially because this very lovely woman seemed to sincerely want to know. She didn't want to hear my reasons so she could argue with me, she seemed to really want to understand.
What I came up with was this: I believe Obama will make sacrifices for our country without sacrificing our people.

Maybe it's just me, but I find it very difficult to thumb people in herds when they have animated thumb icons. Susan "suzi"still alive... barely
