Francisco Garcia Rodriguez, 22, Salina, died July 4, 2008. He was born the son of Martin Garcia Baca and Maria Guadalupe Rodriguez, on September 16, 1985, in Camargo, Chihuahua, Mexico. He worked for Russell Stover Candies in Abilene and for an insulation contractor in McPherson.

Survivors include his parents; brothers, Armando, Jose Luis, Victor, Marco and Gerardo, all of Salina, and Pedro and Alfredo of Mexico; sisters, Susana, Maria Del Carmen, Carolina, Celia, Raquel, Gabriela and Eliza, of Salina and Mexico; grandparents, Jose Guadalupe Rodriguez, Leonor Martinez, Pablo Garcia, and Soledad Baca, all of Mexico.

Tony Reitz, Milford State Park manager, said a man died about 5:30 p.m. Friday (July 4th, 2008) at the south boat ramp swimming beach.

Officials hadn't determined Sunday whether the cause was drowning or a medical condition, he said.

The victim was a Salinan, 22-year-old Francisco Martin "Pelon" Garcia Rodriguez. Ryan Mortuary was handling funeral arrangements.

No other details were available Sunday from the Geary County Sheriff's Office, which was handling the investigation.
