Friendship:

A savior, A guardian angel,
or just someone to make you smile,
a friend is always there for you,
thry've walked with you every mile
your feet couldn't keep up with,
arm around you, held you up,
Walked a thousand miles in both your shoes
at once,just to keep you tough.

Every friend has something
that makes them tested and true,
and that thing is love, it always is,
it always pulls you through.
They've seen the worst, seen the best,
seen every time you were weak,
but they did all the footwork
to help make you reach your peak.

So never deny a friend's help,
for one day they'll need you too,
the best friend is a friend in need,
and all they'll need is you.

An interesting poem request from my last auction winner Theresa.. A poem about why I like to fight. I thought about it and really started to find stuff out about my reasons as I wrote, as you can see by the turn it takes. It's not a simple A B A B rhyme scheme, it's deeper than that and encompassing it in a rhyme would have taken away the value it has for me... Hope you enjoy it.


Why I Fight:

I fight like I love,
Hard and without mercy,
Because there's nothing in life
that you don't have to fight for in the first place.

I fight for the thrill,
like on the edge of a cliff
staring down into cool waters,
I take the plunge.

I fight for my heart,
I feel alive... accomplished...
Every beat makes me stronger,
and every obstacle takes me farther.

I fight for the competition,
I don't like losing
but can never resist a challenge,
or a chance to prove myself.

Most important of all,
I fight for you. Yes, you.
Because I swore to myself I would never let you down.
Because I made a promise when we met,
and when we became so close,
that I would do anything in my power to protect you
at all costs.
No matter what the odds...
I will protect you...
i will save you...
You are my world, and my world shall remain safe from harm
so long as I live and breathe in it.

So, mischief won my auction and asked me to write a rant about crappy music today. Well, here ya go:



What is wrong with music today? It seems like everybody has lost either A.) A sense of what musical talent is, B.) What the meaning of music is, or C.) Their hearing. Helen Keller has to have a better taste in music than most of today’s youth. Did the entire world all at once lose 50 IQ points? You’d practically be better off banging pots and pans against a wall and calling it music. Oh wait, Bjork already did that.. Well nevermind. The fact of the matter is, somewhere along the road people forgot that music is supposed to send a message, a deep meaning beyond the now so typical “Yo mufugga I’m pop a cap in yo @ss then nail your woman with my dong”. Public Enemy, Wu Tang Clan, THAT was rap! They rapped about their oppression, they rapped about the truth of the era. There’s no way the truth of the era we live in today is “Move b*tch, get out the way”. Although, that b*tch should CLEARLY get out of the way, have you seen Luda’s arms in that music video?

Although, I have learned one good thing from listening to newer rap like Lil’ Wayne and other “big” artists of the rap game today, and that is that the word n*gga rhymes with n*gga. Thank god you pieced that one together. Like saying the “N” word at the end of every line makes them rhyme. IT’S THE SAME WORD. My 6 year old cousin can come up with a rap song if the only criterion is to say the same word at the end of every sentence. I’m gonna make an entire rap song and end every line with ”toaster”, I’ll bet you 500 dollars people call me the second coming of Eminem cuz my “RHYMES ARE SO TIGHT, DAWG”. I can see it now “YO, HE TOASTED THE SH!T OUT OF THAT BREAD, SON”. Word to ya toaster, homeboy.

And don’t even get me started on the whole “POP EXPLOSION” thing going on right now. I’d rather get a golden shower than listen to a Justin Beiber song (Where’s R. Kelly when you need him??). A 14 year old girl who calls herself “Justin” and has an extremely subpar voice and unbelievably below average stage presence doesn’t interest me in the least. I think the big issue here is that true stars have disappeared. Michael Jackson (despite raping babies) DOMINATED a stage when he was on it. Led Zeppelin, Bruce Springsteen, all of these bands from back in the day OWNED the stage when they were on it. Nobody has that domineering ability now. Think about how little that young girl does as an act. She doesn’t right her own songs, her voice is autotuned when she sings, and she doesn’t have a backup band, she plays to a recording. ……. Pardon me for a second, I’m getting a call….

Well this is awkward. Apparently this “Justin Beiber” character is a guy. I still have my doubts but we’ll leave it alone for now.

So speaking of things without any talent. Nickelback. I don’t even have to make fun of Nickelback because just saying their name is enough. I wish they were like Rumpelstiltskin because if I said their name one more time they’d go away. …… Nickelback……….. Damn… didn’t work. It was worth a try I suppose. I could make fun of their lack of talent, or the fact that they appeal to 14 year old girls despite every member being over 50.. But I’ll let the David Grohl tweet take it from here:

Despite all of this failure in the music industry, there are a few pillars for hope, for example:
