"PLEASE CHECK YOUR DRAMA AT THE DOOR" |
About me:
I've been told I might have a screw loose or also been told I am a few crayons shy of a full box. Which means to me I am fun, silly and sometimes a bit strange. What is wrong with that. I am a very friendly guy and love making new friends every chance I get.
|
About you:
About you. I have one simple thing I want you to be. Someone who if you have an issue with someone who I own, owns me, or even posted a comment on my page. Solve it else where. I do not need to get pulled into your drama.

My friends know I am a different strokes for different folks type of person. I don't care whom you worship, whom you vote for (unless it's conservative) or whom you want to have sex with (unless they're ugly). I also believe that people should be allowed to live their lives as they see fit, unless their decisions impact negatively on another person.

But recently I have come to learn that people who tell me they are open minded and accepting of things are really f*cking close-minded and like to close their eyes to the world around them. Oh, if they pretend it isn't there, then it's not really there. This drives me up a freaking wall!!!

I tried to surround myself with friends who I thought were honest people. People who liked me for who I was, but I found out I was wrong. The other day I was having a discussion with a friend of mine. She told me that it was just gross that I 'flaunt' my relationship. I asked what is considered 'flaunting'? And my friend told me that I constantly talk about my relationship with Darren. This took me back because over the years I had to listen to this friend talk about her husband constantly. So can someone please tell me what is the difference?!?!?!?!

As the night went one and we discussed the topic of homosexuality she brought up anther thing that I did not know she felt. She said that television shows, movies, and music videos were sending mixed messages to the youth of our nation. She used "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" as an example. She said the show seems to suggest that it isn't even acceptable to live a straight lifestyle. Please . . . The airways were ran by the heterosexual community forever. We then had a few gay characters on television, but they were all stereotypical gay guys. It wasn't until the groundbreaking show Queer as Folk, that the gay community had a real voice in the media.

Oh if you think she stopped there, you would be wrong. She then moved on to an issue close to my heart. GAY MARRIAGE. You see she believed that the traditional heterosexual marital union, between a man and a woman served several functions. First, it allowed for procreation, something that homosexual unions cannot produce.
