I promised myself when I got on HP that I wouldn't get too heavy - but right now, I'm afraid I have to. I've been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and it's spreading. I'm not writing this for pity or sympathy, but to promote awareness. The two most common, *easily-detectable and treatable* forms of cancer are prostate and breast cancer. If they are not dealt with fairly quickly, they are fatal. I didn't catch mine in time. Why? Because at 32 years of age, I thought prostate cancer wasn't an issue - after all, they always say you should be checked after 40. WRONG! If you have any concerns, get checked ... period. Getting checked for prostate cancer or breast cancer takes only a few minutes and it is vitally important. I know it's a pain in the ass (or breast, depending!), but it's far better than the alternative. So to my friends, acquaintances, and all my other fellow HP'ers ... please take care of yourselves - get checked regularly, OK? (We now return you to your regularly scheduled program.)
