Herd Profile: HP Cummunity Manifesto
This group exists for a very simple purpose. If you see HP as a community worth saving and protecting from Flesh Peddlers and the like or if HP has positively contributed to your experience, then you are invited to join as you likely share the sentiments of the following comment, which I refer to as my Manifesto. I thought it high time that these words moved from various peoples tales and comment boards to the general HP community. If you don't agree, don't bother joining as you will be banned. Many thanks. ***** I've discovered that there are two main groups of people that are ~regular~ HP members: those that consider this a 'game' and those that have fun while interacting with people from all over the world. I refer to the first group as "Flesh-peddlers". To them this is nothing more than a game of acquisition, power, dominance, and a fair amount of d1ck sizing. Their 'pets' are nothing more than commodities to be bought and sold in the mind-boggling (to me) and fruitless search for the highest HP points. Sad, disturbing, and upsetting, but unfortunately true. You, ~all~ of my friends, hundreds of thousands of other people, and myself are proud members of the second group. WE are the HP community. WE are the ones that keep our dear friends near, while embracing the freedom to wander about and meet new people. WE are the ones that discover old friends and find the many benefits of HP useful in catching up and reconnecting with those friends: herds, the many community boards, the newspaper, etc. WE are the ones that find the prospect of new and interesting people a ~gift~ and treasure those random meetings. WE are the ones that have taken HP beyond the level of a 'lame app' (direct quote from a scavenger's page) to the vibrant, constantly evolving, growing, and diverse ~community~ that HP is. When you feel that the flesh-peddlers are trying to bring you down, when they attack you in packs - as all scavengers do, when they show their absolute lack of respect, I'd like you to remember this. WE are the majority. WE protect our own and foster growth in the community and its members. WE practice and embrace respect, decency, nurturing, and diversity. WE have no need to ~win~ at this because we do so every time we find a new friend. WE check our messages, petting activity, pets and friends ~before~ we see how many points we've made since we last were here. WE are the true HP community and WE have the skills and tools to overcome the flesh-peddlers and 'gamers' at every turn!!! You are ~not~ alone my friends because you are part of WE!!!! |
