Members of this herd must be willing to detach themselves from what they percieve is reality. Members must think for themselves. Question authority! More on herd theory: So basically we won the war because we have the most non-nuclear weapons and can blow up specific things not entire cities. But the terrorists just want to blow us up, they don’t [care] about what goes. They are pissed or something. Why are they so pissed? Who knows? So how true do you think 24 [the t.v. show] really is? The world is really [messed] up at this point. Everyone is just killing everyone. But why? Why[…]are people so pissed that they would kill another person over it? I really can’t think of anything that would make go kill someone else. So what has happened to these people to make them so hateful? I guess the other people came and killed their families, raped them,[…], so we expect them to just forget about it. But these people want revenge because they other group came and killed their families. We say this is brutal. But what would you do if someone just killed your family or raped your daughter or wife and you could do nothing about it because they had guns and would kill you or anyone else that tried to stop them? Now that group that was in control was a minority but they kept order by fear. Think about it most people just say [screw] it and go along with the rules. Iraq was a very modern country, [well at] least in Baghdad. Maybe not out in the deserts, but[…] look at the middle of our country, it is nothing like the big cities, they are still living in shacks and dirt poor people down in the bayou. It is the same [stuff], just a different part of the world were the geographic zones are different. They are in a desert, we are in the swamps. […] So the US has more money now and our government has been able to maintain control over the most amount of people. God, could you imagine trying to convince the people of a state that you wanted to form your own country and be independent? Imagine a state trying to succeed from the union? That would draw so much attention. You would have to prove out economically why you want to do it. […] make yourself a Switzerland, be neutral and rely on the US to protect you. Just be a good neighbor. Not really sure where this is going, it actually sounds a little silly…what else was I thinking, yes, the Iraq to US comparison… The EU is trying to create a USA but they will never pull it off. Its like the book says, there is a perfect mix of power and size somewhere. The USA is essentially the modern day china. It is the best of Europe all in one country. It is exactly what Europe could never do. The reason we were able to do it was because we all wanted to leave behind our past. All the people that came over were looking to get rid of their past. They wanted to keep some of the culture, but they really wanted to get rid of the past… start over… forget [they had] been raped and killed[…]. Just get out and forget it. Now you have a generation that has not really seen a serious war. To us it is like a joke. We were not drafted and never saw our friends and neighbors dead. That has not happened since WWII then Vietnam. I guess Vietnam is the most recent. We just kept sending more and more. But with [new] technology we can just kill these people [our enemy] if we want. The problem is, we are trying to avoid that. What do the Iraq people really want? The people in the city probably want to forget and move on and adopt new technologies. That is the other issue, the rate of technology acceptance. The problem[…] is that their religions won’t let them adapt [to] the technology so one group just gets further and further ahead. The one thing about Sadham is that he was no […] Taliban. Women still had rights and all. That is the difference between Iraq and the “others”. Iraq was further ahead, they just had a psycho as a leader who just liked [messing] around and loved the power play. Hmmm …so how does this not escalate into WWWIII? How[…] do you get out of this mess. That is the question that has to be driving the Bush people nuts. [Scott said bush and nuts in the same sentence, hehe] They run all the scenarios. Think of all the outcomes, but can’t find the answer. And you got this [stupid] election coming up and he is just pressuring[…] you and so you will make a rash call. You will decide without having all the facts. You have to because everyone is questioning your ability. Eventually you have to make a call and hope it goes your way. If it does you get re-elected. If it goes wrong, then the Democrats come in and god only knows where that will go? If you want to take over you have to start a new political party. That is what several people have actually done but the government immediately labels them as bad and radical or something like that. These groups just simmer, none of them are able to build up [and gain momentum]. But why? Why does that happen? It should make since that if people don’t vote they don’t care because both choice are more or less the same. In the end our life will go on as it is. We need to create a party that says our lives will change, things will be different. But how many people here really want things to be different? Apparently not many. […] Imagine if nobody ever left their state. That is basically what Europe does. They all generally like each other, but they don’t know each other and they don’t mix with each other all that much. I think [it is changing, but the change is slow] because they don’t have a common language (although it is quickly becoming English). Europeans[…] feel that the language is soooooo much of their culture. Europe needs its own unified language. But how do you do that? Imagine trying to teach an entire country an entire new language? […] I wonder why Latin America doesn’t combine into one nation? You would think they would. Perhaps that is why the US won’t help Latin America We are afraid of them. We started slowly with Mexico. The funny thing is that the Latin countries don’t really fight with each other, they fight amongst themselves. What does that say about them? But, they don’t fight for religion. They fight for poverty. They are all catholic, very much so. They are all poor Catholics. The religion has kept them tame all these years but as they start to lose religion then they open their minds. Why did I not buy into religion at an early age? I just could never grasp that it was real, I still can’t. I just can’t believe that people will follow this one way of thinking. […] Way back in history Jesus died to keep promoting the religion he believed in, which was originally [derived] by this guy who called himself “god”. Jesus was the last one to remember him. Jesus was a person. Believing that Jesus is the son of god who created all things makes no sense. If god created all things, it is a mystical belief. The same belief that controlled people all through history. You have to start adding more and more mystic stuff until people start to question it. Right now, religion has lost in the US. Everything was good. When things are good, people start to lose religion. When things are bad they go back to it. If you want to take over Latin America you have to get the church on your side. In the US, to take over you would have to create a whole new religion. People need something to support them. You need to have politics on your side as well, or else you get squashed. That is what the do to terrorists. Terrorists are just people with new ideas on how it should be and they are able to convince enough other people. The thing that is weird is; why do the Islams hate technology? That is the part I don’t get. They hate it because it has given the US control of the world! The Islams thought that if they can control our oil then they can control us. Could you imagine if OPEC said we are going to stop making oil. What would happen? The world would just stop. But if you have a big[…] reserve you could take them over. You just take over all the Middle East. The royal families don’t want that because they know we would get rid of their status. They don’t want our culture, they like their own. That is the key to international business. Take [on] the culture of the place you are at. People like doing business with people like them. Adapt to your surroundings. If the customer is laid back, you need to be. If they are hyper you need to be. But you have to be able to be yourself, don’t try to be someone you are not. That will get you into trouble! Don’t push the limits.
