FoT 5: What do you make of roadside sweepers? (I'm basing this on Malaysian sweepers, if they have any difference at all) What is the first thought that occurs to you when you see a roadside sweeper? All covered up and almost dark-looking - is it an illusion? Are they really that burnt from the scotching sun? Do you think they ever smile? Do you pity them? If there were no sweepers, what would happen? To our roads, and parks, and almost anyplace else, would we see scattered leaves and litters messily on the path that we walk? Is it called a path anymore if it's so dirty? Would you still walk on it? Let's give a round of applause for them. If they don't sweep, who would? Would you? It is a job, nonetheless. Would you rather they beg? Would you rather see them homeless, sleeping at the roadsides that they could have cleaned? They may not be smiling, the heat has evaporated any extra energy left from them. It was a choice they have made, maybe barely a choice. With minimal education, and working experience, this is the best they could have done. So don't look down at them. Smile and greet the next time you see them. Just like any other job, they are contributing too, in their own way. Appreciate them ;) Signing off, Joyce.

FoT 4: What Inspiration Means to Me Ever thought of what inspires you? I'm not saying "what" as in, the things that inspire you. i'm talking about why an inspiration is an inspiration. Well, i wouldn't know better about yours, so i couldn't care less unless you care to tell me anyway. ;P i shall move on to mine then. what actually inspires me, or shall i rephrase that, why a future goal is able to drive me forward is, because of the thought of the infinite possibilities of the future. Inspiration is born when you are actually at least 51% positive that you would be able to attain that goal. and how do you become 51% sure? it is when you venture into thinking of all the possibilities. no one knows for certain about the future; thus the infinite amount of possibilities. it's okay to dream! dare to dream! haha, but please remain in the boundaries of reality. ^_^ signing off, joyce

Fot 3: The purpose of this. Is this column to write about tales? or just random stuff to get thumbed? Really, should I conform? Need I be that serious? Need this column be renamed as the randomness blog space, or thumbprint collection-when i leave a note-column? If such can be defied, need there be titles anymore? Wud is the use of titles then, me friends? Maybe they shouldn't name columns no more. It's a waste of time, people don't follow! let the whole profile be a clump of messed up info, let their readers categorize themselves. hah! arouse the brain, provide stimulation. geez, what a bother. it's better this way, eh? at least now we know where to write excess fragments of thought. FoT 2: The reflection of reality In this loneliness that is only known to me, the invisible pain that is ongoing and this outward pretentious behavior slowly consumes me whole and digs deep into where no one can longer reach me. what is this calm, almost numbing yet highly unattainable feeling. am i not who you see? am i not who i think i am? then who am i? reveal yourself, i won't let you go further. Stop it, right now. but who would listen to me? who would give me second opinions? In this world not of my own, i have slaved myself to the mercy of others. You'd say, I am not below you, i'd say, you just happen to sit above me. As you'll see, i too have a voice, on mute. i am incapable of blaming anyone but myself. sign, jOzL

Fragments of Thought (FoT) 1: Let there be no hate in this world. really, what is hate? it's the opposite of love. if there's no love in the first place, you wouldn't hate; there's no comparison to be made. so it's wrong to say you only know how to hate. you actually know how to love too. why hate when you can love? don't you think that it's hard? it's only in our natural tendency to love people, or at least be at peace with people around you - to be comfortable, neutral but not necessarily agreeable at all times. in fact, it's almost always positive unless of occurrence when there are different opinions. it's hard to hate - yet you want to because only then you would feel that unfairness in life is justified. but it is in our blood to love feeling loved. those who hate, fear love isn't there, so they learn to deny love. they tell themselves they don't need love, when they are the ones needing love the most. it's sad. it's not the person who is not being loved that is sad, it is those who do not know how to show love to those who need it that is sad. why choose hate over love? haven't you heard that hate is the closest thing to love? you get so involved in trying to go against your nature, you want so much to hate something/someone that you actually don't innately. It may be because of a bad experience, influence etc that had you re-evaluate if you would hate or continue loving the matter in concern. you might debate between 1) hating it to avoid getting hurt or betrayed again in the future (you'll usually settle for this because it's the first thing that comes to mind) and 2) getting over it so you can continue believing that you can love it. if one is optimistic enough, one will be able to see that loving will be so much easier than hating. there is so much to do that goes out of your way just to prove that you 'hate' it. besides, when you start paying so much attention to that matter in concern, and if you do not have self-fulfilling prophecies, you will come to be acceptable to the thing you once hated because now you have more information about it. so why hate in the first place when it will end up with love? Nevertheless, we are confided to our social norms. We do not wish to go against the majority of the people's decision to hate something. However, it's never fair to hate something just because it belongs to a certain group that is looked down upon by social means. Even in a group, each person is unique and is an individual by itself. So what if one characteristic is hated, so much more can be loved if you look carefully. You said you hate to bring justice, when hating itself on shaken grounds is injustice. what i'm getting at is that love is so much easier than hate (i wonder how many times have i repeated myself). so why make life so complicated? why make everyday so troublesome to live with? don't we all 'hate' our lives, or have something to complain about it? Learn to love, and you'll be loved. ^_^ anyway - (Adapted from Dark Knight:) "why so serious?" Signing off, Joyce.
