There i was returning from a traveling theater gig. we were driving a large isuzu packer truck full of our set, costumes and props. there were three of us all still in costume, tony at the window to my right was dressed like a Nazi, I was dressed as a chemist or lab tech or something and Topher, dressed as an alien with a purple Goatee and red racing stripe pants, was driving. the truck had not been maintenanced and as a result the rear view mirrors had blown in from the wind, we were practically sitting on the engine so we couldn't see or hear behind us. so we were completely oblivious to the fact that we were in the middle of a high speed chase with the DARE van, pedal to the metal 48 miles per hour. to make things worse it was just after 9/11 and everyone was paranoid. eventually after plling over 20 or so cars behind us, the Dare van began swerving off the road and on right behind us. we saw it and said lets pull over and let him by. well instead he stopped and 20 or so cars went by instead. when the officer approached the truck, topher said is there a problem officer? and the officer replied "Yeah you got a big problem right here!" and grabbed our review mirror forcing it into proper position, before going off on a tirade lasting what seemed like 10 minutes with vains pulsing in his neck and forehead. upon finishing he said "and who are you guys anyway? which coincidentally was a cue in the play we had just performed. we all froze hoping that none of us would respond with the line "well we were time traveling and our clock broke, and we ended up on your planet and we are trying to get home." from the play. we informed the officer that we were part of children's traveling theater and on our way back to town. we were escorted back.
