Barely 16, barely alive
A girl looks in hand on the glass
Wishing your eyes would open
Wishing you could go to the movies
His mom is holding his hand
It's not his time

That she never got to thank that boy
She never really told him how she cared
She knew of his pain
Did everything she could
Everything she wished someone would have done for her
It was not enough
Mom's saying goodbye
It's her turn now, she's by your side
She's holding your hand as it goes limp
