Direction is an essential part of life, not necessarily a belief in a predetermined fate or the desire to achieve a particular goal at some point in the far future but rather an understanding that time and events move ever onward and, if you chose, forward. It is that very sense of direction that can drive us on to achieve the impossible and its absence that can lead us languishing in life's doldrums.

I've had my share of those still times, but that just makes me appreciate my life all the more. I really believe that when you know where you are heading life opens up and every second can be truly sweet. There are days when I feel that I could just reach up and touch the sky.

I love the company of true friends; those people in your life who want to be with you rather than need to have you with them. Finding that at this point I know more than a handful of such people brings my not only great happiness but also a feeling of tremendous pride, that I should be a person with whom they wish to share their time.

Finally, I feel that our emotions are a gift we should cherish; to do otherwise not only denies what we are but also what we are capable of. Is love not our crowning glory, does it not lift us to unparalleled highs and yet come with the ability to smash us into a thousand pieces? That we are able to experience such things should be celebrated and those of us who fail to acknowledge our feelings or, even worse, feel any emotion at all are surely missing out.
