Vegas is awesome, I definitely recommend a show, any show also the fountains in front of the Bellagio. Oh and wear comfortable shoes my first time I went, my feet were killing me. If you want to go to the older parts of Vegas I recommend the bus, it is cheap and the cabbies there are crazy...Hope this helps.
