Sorry it took so long for me to reply, I don't FB very much anymore. My Lion experience took place on the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia in a lovely little hole of a place called Chirundu. It is not a game reserve, the animals just roam around wild!!! We were camping there for a few days doing some fishing and taking a whols bunch of photos. Anyway, there were six of us in a zipless tent (the zip had broken and the gap was secured by safety pins!!). I woke up to a heavy breathing which turned into a sort of heavy sniffing around the area of the safety pins, I tried to be a still and silent as possible but I'm not sure why as any animal it may have been could smell me a mile away!!!LOL but I wasn't really thinking that far. I was convinced that it was a hyena (bad enough) until we saw the tracks in the morning...... Gigantic beautiful Lion footprints, I have never been so amazed, the lion was obviously not very hungry!!!
