"Intellectual Conversation Welcome" |
About me:
I'm usually pretty tired when I finally get a chance to check all this stuff so forgive my lack of communication :D Also, when I flip through random profiles I pet people that are just looking for friendship so sorry if you're wondering why the heck I pet ya
|
About you:
I'm really just stuck in my home a lot with my 15 month old daughter as it's very difficult to do anything other than go to the mall in this town... and I really HATE malls. So, just would like to make friends, that's all, as I am happily married. I consider myself to be an intelligent person but I truly feel as though my brain is shrinking the longer I am at home so anyone who'd like to help me stimulate neuron connections would be great! :D

Unknown's tales

Well, another horrific school shooting, and this one happened to be at my alma mater. It's just such a terrible thing that my mind cannot begin to encompass it. All I can say is that it is time our nation put mental health on the priority list. The majority of the homeless in America are mentally ill, I have to imagine that all of these horrific shootings have been perpetrated by people that are also mentally ill despite all the hype of video games, violent music lyrics, etc as the cause. Mentally sound people just do not perpetrate these kinds of acts. I am grieving for all the families that have lost their loved ones in such horrifying and confusing ways, there is no explanation to soothe them.

I have a tale: When our nation was founded it was written into our constitution that the people have the ability, the right and the OBLIGATION to reform our government if it is no longer in the best interests of the people. Now I will admit that it has been a terribly long time since the ruling majority in our nation has felt the pangs of oppression at the hands of a corrupt government. A long time since the lack of liberty was a real pain that people felt. But every day our current government is stealing these liberties, slowy, inexorably but most definitely surely stealing them. It is time, my fellow Americans, to stand up and use your voice. It is your OBLIGATION to stop the destruction of our liberty in the name of "safety" and "equality". These words are worthless without liberty. Remember the call my friends "GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH" And please go read several essays on the term LIBERTY, it is not the same as freedom, there are some fine distinctions that we are allowing to slip by every day. Ok, that was my rant for the day!

I'm a bit bored of being me, anyone else ever have that feeling? You know how you always hear, "you're not the only one to think/feel that way." I wonder, I mean really, how many other people have thought or felt those things that make me ponder my level of abnormality or lack thereof.

SOAP BOX I refuse to support any corporate entity that cannot pay their employees a decent wage and offer them benefits when the CEO's of these said entities are making 8 figure salaries. I find it absolutely appalling that monster entities like WalMart can turn such an enormous profit and yet still not understand why their employee turn over rate is so high. They would actually be more fiscally wise if they were to pay their employees just $2 more dollars an hour and offer them healthcare coverage. Then they wouldn't have to train 30+ people a year for the same position. So wasteful and needlessly callous. Here's to companies like Starbucks that offer even part time employees benefits and all employees reasonable wages! I'll drink a latte to that.

Just been thinking about a lot of things lately. Ever since I had my precious girl I've realized how important it is to let the people in your life that mean something to you know it. My father died when I was 19 and I had regrets about a lot of things, I swore up and I down I wouldn't make the same mistakes. When my mother died almost 3 years ago, I had the same regrets. I really don't want to have to look back yet again and know that I've been a fool 3 times over.
