I'm back for a spell. Its been a nice sobering experience internetfasting. I've been ski bumming the French Alps and I recommend being phoneless and computerless for sometime (if you can I dare you try it). Are you adicted to being intoutchable ?

BOXING DAY is upon us -

The day after the day ... of giving.
On this day, do reflect on what you have received, and cherrish ALL the manners in which it was given.

And so I shall endouvour to more than just thank you all for I am greatful. Yet there is a gift inside each gift.

We can all also uwrap that too, for underneath the giving, look ... and as you do ... you become aware of the WHY ... can you notice the invisible ?

The mirror of compassion that only can be, because it also is in the other person. Embrace that compassion, it is the joy of which all goodness stems.

A Cup of Tea

Nan-in, a Japanese master during the Meiji era (1868-1912), received a university professor who came to inquire about Zen.

Nan-in served tea. He poured his visitor's cup full, and then kept on pouring.

The professor watched the overflow until he no longer could restrain himself. "It is overfull. No more will go in!"

"Like this cup," Nan-in said, "you are full of your own opinions and speculations. How can I show you Zen unless you first empty your cup?"
