Once upon now, there was an animal crazy woman who had a lot of pets. She had five dogs (Iggy the Maremma, Zoe and Chloe-mother and daughter Cavaliers, and Lucy and Ruby-mother and daughter mini foxies), two black cats (Lily and Felix), two pigs (Beyonce and Shakira), three horses (Kasper the thoroughbred, Holly the warmblood and Cody the tried and trusted crossbred) as well as a miniature pony called Cocoa. She also had a goat called Annabell who will be a mother anyday, as well as about 20 geese, round about 200 chickens, 4 ducks, a canary, goldfish and a peahen.
All her relatives complained that she had too many animals and never had enough time to come and visit them. The woman new it was true but she couldn't help herself. She spent vast amounts of money on food, flea products and vet bills leaving little to pamper herself with indulgences such as holidays, jewellery or expensive trips to the beauty salon. Fortunately she was patient and didn't need these things to make her feel good but a nagging feeling kept telling her she should get out and enjoy another part of the world.
She decided she needed a holiday and looked in the travel sections of the weekend paper while she sipped coffee at her regular sunday morning cafe. New Caledonia excited her as her Grandmother had lived there. As she had never left Australia before she was excited at the idea of tracing her roots.
The big hurdle was that she would have to employ someone to mind all those animals. She couldn't let just anyone do it. She decided to think about that later and went out and had her passport photos taken.....To be continued....
