because i reside in bizarroville...last thursday while coming home from the store, i apparently began to have a "significant and sizable coronary event," meaning by the time i got to the ER, i was in the midst of a big ol' nasty heart attack.

before i knew what was going on, i was having a catheterization (huzzah for cameras that travel from your groin/femoral vein all the way up into yer heart) and stent placement (huzzah for metal in her heart), as upon suctioning out a fairly large clot from my LAD, the vessel apparently continued to collapse on itself, and required stenting to keep it open.

so, now i have to take a truckload o' "old man pills" likely until the end o' days and have bona fide cardiac disease. but, seriously, 36 and a heart attack? yeah, that pretty much sums up the stunning way in which the fates see fit to fuck with me.

i might have forgotten to mention that i'm prone to bouts o' extreme flakiness and have random binges o' disappearance. so, i haven't been intentionally ignoring/neglecting anyone...i was just being quasi-hermit-y.

behold mothra (!) who mysteriously appeared in the kitchen one day and spend its short life on the blinds. upon its expiration it was preserved in a shadow box that now resides on our 5-year-old's dresser (right next to the anatomically correct puppy bank and the 6-ft darth vader cut-out).

and i can assure you, while i do have rather small hands, they aren't mutant-sized small, making that one mighty ginormous moth.

i like socks.

in fact, i might just like socks a little too much.

okay, okay, i absolutely positively heart socks.

one might call it a wee case o' sock fetishism, and i suppose one would be correct in assessing it as such.

my DIY-craftiness had even led me to learn to knit my own socks, which can be tedious when making thigh-high multi-striped socks on teeny-weeny needles...talk about a labor o' love.

it would be fair to say that i tend to collect socks much as some women collect shoes...and a deliciously fantastic shop to feed the need is without question sock dreams. anyone in need o' swag for their feetsies will not be disappointed.
