And again I was away for a few weeks. This time it was because I had to build a cat kennel or animal control was going to come catch the cats living here... some of which are feral. I wasn't about to let that happen because the feral ones would just be put down.

I have spent the last 10 year perfecting a method for taming/gentling feral cats. It is a slow process but very effective. Some of the former ferals I have are impossible to live with kind of since I tamed them. *grin*

They will be so desperate for any attention they climb my legs or jump on my back. *laughs* Pretty good though for cats that were born wild huh?

So I had to dig holes, some through rock, and sink 10 posts. The kennel is 16 feet long by 8 feet wide by 8 feet high. I made it so high so I could walk in there but also so I could build up and increase their living space.

So anyway, I got all but one but I am still hoping to catch that one using a live trap. It is one of a pair of twins that are mostly white but with a calico tail. Weird huh?

I also had to re-trap some of them because they escaped. They helped me to 'kitty proof' it though so I did not mind too much.

So I haven't been around here again. Partly due to the holiday but partly because my grandpa Sam died just before Christmas. I also knew he had been sick a while and that things were not going well with that. *sigh*

He was 96 and he had a good long life. He was born 12/12/1912 and is survived by 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Still the one thing I really wanted most this Christmas was to be able to call him to wish him a Merry Christmas like I have done every year for the last 17 years since I left home... and I couldn't this year. =(

I will want the same thing next year, probably more than normal because I will have missed calling him weekly for so long, and I won't get it then either. *cries*

So found out I am going to acquire a hammered dulcimer. =) It doesn't have strings but I found out my favorite music store has them in stock so no big deal. Well I will have to learn how to properly string it up I guess. Then I will have to learn how to play it. =)


I am thinking I might also record my dulcimer activities for youtube. *laughs*

So this morning by complete necessity I learned how to set up remote MySQL access hosts. *grin*

The harder part came trying to figure out how to connect them. I did some more online research and found that you could just use the domain of the remote host in the config file of the script.

However that did not work and I was receiving some odd errors. I then figured I had to use the IP address so I used This page to find the IP of the site.

Once I entered that IP into the list of allowed remote access hosts everything worked perfectly.
*big grin*

So my dilemmas of the morning are no more... of course I am sure more will crop up during the day but I love a new challenge. *laughs*

Getting busier with the first round of holidays coming. It is likely I won't be around much for about a week soon. I hope all have a good week. =)
