"Aha!" he said, "another Blog! But I don't write blogs! I am too busy living life to be locked with a keyboard, tied to a mouse."
Never much of a diarist, he had also managed to mostly avoid leaving the tales of his daily life written on the pages of Internet. A few musings scattered througout Yahoo Answers, some thoughtful replies on some friend's page or on that of a stranger. Usually drawn to typing a warming phrase, marking the dots for the reader to join and form a smile.
Then along came Facebook. Or rather, after ten years of watching the Internet grow from being an academic tool to being a social entity with its own laws and its own values for measuring the time lived by those who came to live within it, along came an idea that captured the sense of self that had been covered under layers of alter-egos and put the real person in the foreground of the Internet.
Now time seems to be filled with interminable screen refreshes while he waits for more thoughts and news from friends that he had thought lost in his childhood. Maybe one of those times he'll ask them for their e-mails and actually get some reading done!
