Patience is essential, as with any child. But just that little extra is needed for an ADHD child.

Always remeber that it can take up to 2 hours for him to wind down when medication wears off. Try not to let this frustrate you, just remember to put him to bed at a reasonable time and he will eventually wind down and sleep.

No matter how hard you try, rainy days will always be absolute mayhem

If/when you have a parent/teacher conference about your childs' behaviour, do lots of web searching and go armed and prepared with lots of information and facts. Can't argue facts and it will hopefully save you talking until you're blue in the face. There's nothing worse than trying to get a point across and not being heard.

Always Always Always try to make him at least giggle when you wake him up in the morning. Happy in the morning makes for a good day :)
