Dave and I were dating from Feb 05 to Jan of 07 and we both like kitties. We both started working on a steamboat together the summer of 2006. On a trip to Lansing, IA, we found a tiny kitten that was hanging around our boat the next morning. Dave and I had done the night security watch the night before and knew how cold it had gotten. Every one of the crew thought the kitty was adorable, with its fluffy tail and black and white marks. The captain suggested, in passing, that we take it on the boat with us and it could be our mascot named Lansing. Well, some of the girls went to go find out who it belonged to and we learned that there was a "cat lady" who fed the stray cats near this building. So they got a box and took the stray kitty on board. The captain was going to take it home with him, but partway through the trip home he was thinking, Maybe I should ask the wife first...we have a small child with a second one on the way. Then Nora, his sister was going to take it, but she was saying, I just moved in to a new apt and I don't know what the rules are for pets. That left Dave and me with the kitty at the end of the 6 hour boat ride from Lansing, IA to LaCrosse, WI. And we named the pretty kitty Lansing.

Someone recently messaged me about my kitty on my pictures. It is a two part story. I will have to start with the second part so they appear in order.
So Dave and I broke up and we decided that it would be better if Lansing were to go with him to his dad's place, where there are 4 other cats. I have visited my Lansing kitty three times since we broke up last Jan. The first time was Memorial Day and he seemed to remember me and hang out with me while I napped. (I had been in Racine for the Memorial Day parade and was v. tired.) I don't remember when I visited the second time, but it was also during the corps season because I also napped. The last and most recent time was on Dec 2, the day before Dave's bday. His family was going out to eat and I was on my way home from the Kilties Drum Corps banquet. Lansing had pretty much turned into a v. fluffy kitty who didn't like to be picked up. Dave suggested I try (because it is funny for ppl to watch others try to pick him up) and well, Kitty didn't like that. Lansing wouldn't let me pet him at all while I was there. The little Lansing is not my kitty anymore :(

I was looking at Jon McMullin's profile (leader of the Digital Art herd) and his tale is about how great HP is. I, too, will have to say that I have met a greater percentage of interessting people here and have met some that I would strongly consider meeting in real life. I"m not single, but this is still a great place to meet others. Thanks to tho of you who have made it such a great experience.

I went to the Holidazzle parade tonight for the first time in about 12 years. My dad suggested it so Matt and I went with him. It was quite near perfect. It was snowing and we were at a pub beforehand. Drinks before, a parade in the snow with people lit up with lights and food and drinks after. It was a wonderful, white Christmas Eve Eve.
