I got a lovely Valentine's Day message off one of my amazing pets (and a great friend) that I'd like to share with you all (with his permission)...
"Yellow roses represent friendship. And, yes, even in this silly medium we can develop some pretty nice friendships. In your case, you even developed a husband!
As I look around this site, I see something very sad. I see young women who trade sexuality for a false sense of security. I see young men fouling the air with their language and their utter disregard for the opposite gender, who are to be used and discarded; bought, sold, traded and ogled. In general, I see FAR too many young people here, period. Those who have traded their real lives for the vapid relationships they discover inside this devious box of microchips.
I fear for them. I fear for all of us.
And then, I meet someone like you. A young ADULT. Head on her shoulders, feet on the ground, mature and real-world oriented. Someone who has a plan for her life and is happy to tell the world that she married the greatest man on Earth.
I am proud of you...as a human being...and as a friend. God bless you, Jen and Gary. I hope you two have a wonderul, romantic Valentine's Day.
