Unknown's tales

OK, to clarify one of my previous tales.. I did not HAVE a bachelorette party. I CRASHED a bachelorette party. My close friend has a close friend who's close with a bride-to-be... so we ACCIDENTALLY found ourselves in exactly the same bar where the party was... and then of course we had to say hi :) What's interesting, the bride also had an injured leg and couldn't dance... except while I had a torn muscule, she had a bone fracture. I had a couple of weeks on her though. She couldn't even take five steps without help. Or may be it was because she was drunker than anybody I've ever seen in my life. Very nice gal, hope she's got a great married life.

I've tested my Dancing Powers this weekend. The leg is still not back to normal, but now I can hold a dancing floor for a half hour or so. I think the band that was playing that night wasn't very happy with me. I went close to the stage and danced solo, to see what happens. I'm afraid I put up a better show that they did, and people apploded to me rather than to the music :) Oh well, they will get over it. And I was just testing. I should be back to my full powers in a couple of weeks.

Because of the leg injury I haven't danced in 6 weeks. I'm a superb dancer, and life is dull without it. Last night I went out with a bachelorette party and discovered that now my "bad" leg is strong enought to allow me to dance! OK, nothing extreme, I still keep most of my wieght on the "good"leg, but I actually could do it!!! I'm very happy. Sounds like when I dance I make a lot of men happy, too :)

I had the most wonderful surprise in the world! Many years ago I came to the States from the USSR. One holiday that I've always greatly missed was the International Woman's Day (March 8). It was the day when all women would get those special flowers, which we called "mimosa". In here mimosa means a totally different plant (and the flower I am talking about has a strange name, "silver"-something). I was shocked to find out that what I thought to be a common flower is largely unknown in the States. EVen worse, people don't believe that there is such a holiday. So I haven't seen those flowers in 10 years, even though we tried to find them in the area. Yesterday a friend of mine brought us a whole bunch! He had to order it from CA, and I don't want to know what it cost him, but me and my other friend from Russia where VERY happy to see something we loved as kids. This was better than Christmas. I kept sniffing the flowers (as any good wolf, I have a very strong sense of smell). This has been the best gift of a decade.

Since the end of Jan I've been a poor three-legged wolf, so when I set my mood to "Injured", it's quite literal. Had to be on cratches for a month because of a torn calf muscule. Everybody always wants to know what happened, but no one believes my "dusting accident" story. So now when somebody asks, I just make a mysterious face and wisper, "Never go skydiving on a first date!"
