Well, we (our family) now face a difficult family decision. My grandmother (93) is terminally ill, and we are contemplating cancer surgery, or letting the tumor in essence killing her. 2 doctors stated, that with this type of cancer, the death is not particularly 'kind", whereas the surgery procedure, in and of itself, may kill my grandmother during surgery, or immediatly afterwords due to complications, which may be the better option rather than something prolonged and painful. My poor grandmother. What a choice she has to make...

Now when I go out to dinner with my family, I only order an appetizer, which drives them only slightly more insane than also ordering a double vodka on the rocks...

At a restaurant, as a child, frequently there would be no kids menu, so I had to order an adult sized meal. I was always chastised about not being able to finish my plate, and always got: "your eyes are bigger than your stomach".

Eating disorders: My mom used to check the garbage to see what I ate. So, if I ate a chocolate bar, and threw the wrapper out, she would notice it, and comment on it. I would intentionally eat less and not snack, just to freak the family out.
