If you want to get your fella into dancing why not take him along to a Ceroc night? There are loads in your area. I know the people who run them, they are a really easy going/friendly bunch. He'll be able to partner dance to modern music by the end of the night. Give it a couple of weeks and the bug will have really bitten him :o)
It's exactly how me and a lot of the guys I know got into dancing. You can then steer him towards the more tricky dance disciplines if you want.
