With exhuberant abandon
she flings herself at the day
with gleeful puppy charm
Headlong she plunges into
new adventures.
Intriguing scents lead her
into the wilds of the backyard.
Every blowing leaf,
each fallen twig
has to be investigated.
Be it rain or sun
wind or calm
out she goes into
her magical kingdom.

She will not accept
that no means no,
that the cats are not chew toys,
that the litterbox is not a snack tray,
that water from the tap
is better than
water in the toilet,
that no really does mean no
that brakes don't suddenly appear
when she slides across the floor
and into the wall,
that pillows aren't meant
to release their feathers,
that barking is not song,
that 'Rioh, NO!'
means big trouble,
that bedspreads are not
big towels for muddy feet
that walking is better than
full speed, ahead
that sitting still is possible.

Her enchantment with the world
like the wonder of a child,
a love affair gone wild.
Life is a joyous romp
all the day long,
till evening comes,
she curls up by my side,
exhausted by her travels
and delightful escapades.
She gives me puppy kisses,
then falls instantly asleep,
softly snory, gently twitching,
already into the morrow's

Freedom

Would that i might
slip from this scarred, ugly skin
which imprisons me,
ravages my troubled soul.

Dare i let my spirit free
to soar, with a wild grace

Something Whispers

Something whispers,
prowling in my head,
stirring thoughts
long put away.

Something nudges,
forcing me to move,
restless,i wander
through an empty house.

Something shouts
'you can, you ought.'
The pills, the rope,
the knife, the gun.

Something shoves;
i fall,
lay there broken
on cold hard ground.

Something screams
'yes Yes YES,"
It's time, it's time,
i see my truth.

Something punches,
takes my breath
takes my will,
takes my heart.

Something shrieks,
piercingly sweet,
