Ah.. very nice. I was usually first or second soprano.. though when I was in school I’d often get thrown into other areas as well just to help them learn their parts. I can’t sight read very well, but I was usually able to hobble my way through.. LOL
Balancing work and school among everything else can be hard, but if you are well organized, and have the RIGHT kind of job, it can work out. I worked doing retail commission sales when I was in school – worked well, because during the down periods I could read my school materials – and then I still was making decent money to put myself through school. Other friends worked fast food- and never had that down time. Worst time though was xmas – because there WAS no downtimes.. and it was usually crunch time for exams and final projects.
There ’s a lot of things that bring up that inherent desire for control/lack of control… bondage is a good example… having that moment of being able to escape if you are in bondage – and in a “safe” way relinquish control, and even some responsibility (depending on how you look at it) can be very powerful. I think one of the hardest things is getting past our gender stereotypes… on one hand men aren’t supposed to be submissive…and on the other hand, men aren’t supposed to be “mean” to women.. LOL - and the same goes for women as well… there’s a lot of societal pressure – that sometimes once you’re in that moment of letting go, just becomes so powerful… to let go of SO much…
*nods* I did 7 years myself... plus another.. gah... 10 years of singing. Dance on the other hand, not so much.. I never was a triple threat.. hehe
You have a good point.. on one hand you would want to go under, and on the other, you want to analyze what's going on... find it's meanings, figure out what's happening.. etc.. which is sort of counter productive to the first ...
Come to think of it.. the three people I know who are interested in hypnotizing people (and two of them, being switches, are interested but as of yet unsuccessfully being hypnotised too) are guys... Though.. Midori did a wonderful workshop on 'aural sex' - not so much hypnosis.. more like meditation with an erotic bent... I found it very much the same though - the idea of repetition, of creating a 'vision'.. just the planned outcome being a bit different... It was hot.. but mind you, everything midori does is hot.. LOL
