hiya, I completely agree on your comment about many trying to follow in lovecrafts footsteps but generally pale by comparison. Also yes, stephen king and his work Crouch End is the best emulation to date....its a fantastic piece...but then I am a complete "King-o-phobe". What I always find incredible is our long ago lovecraft first began his works...and yet they could be written only yesterday...always fresh and timeless...suppose thats the mark of a good writer.
As for the goth weekend at whitby...I am sorry but no...we wouldn't be attending...regardless of how much I would like to attend....why wife would have to keep me on a short leash...I admit I am a complete and utter sucker for the whole goth look! I know its wrong and unseemly but there you go...at least i am prepared to admit it~L~

came across this one and thought you would appreciate it. Not sure who its meant to represent to be honest....but fairly certain its drawing on cthulhu mythos! Any clues???

knew you would have been chatting to the good lady wife. I am afraid I am a Lovecraftian!...Read countless works by him and relished in every single nuance. The man was ahead of his time. How can anyone not love his descriptive ability. Many of tried to emulate him but all, except stephen king, fall short of the mark! ANyway, all the best to ypu alex, and get some ales up to thumb....if you have read Lovecraft then you will have things to say about life I am sure

*lol* I even had a copy of the necronomicon as a teenager...got scared of it and gave it away! As for having a new friend, I believe that friends are like diamonds - a girl can never have too many!
You really need to chat to my hubby though - he is an even bigger Lovecraft fan than me! Though I did manage to write a whole dissertation once on "horror: a much maligned genre"....
