It's getting ready to storm outside. 'shudder' I hate the thunder. There will be thunder, I can tell. Now if it's just rain and occasional lightning I'm okay. Splashing across the wet grass, throwing my toys in the mud on purpose just so I can start at a run and land in a fun puddle lapping at my paws. The fresh rain pouring down my face to my back to the underside of my belly. It gives a whole new meaning to the word 'free.' I can lay for hours in the rain, stretched out on the back patio, watching the birds and the squirrels taking shelter in my trees.

But the thunder will be here today. I can hear it coming in the clouds and my master has to go to work. Who's legs am I supposed to hide under when the loud crashes rattle me to my bones? Today is going to be 8 hours of panic and she's going to work with a smile on her face.

So last night I got home and there was a colony of ants in my shower. I've never seen that many ants at one time before! It was like a big black mass moving over the white tiles. At first I just stood there looking at them like, "Holy Cow!" So I reached for the shower nozzle, trying not to touch any ants or the shower curtain, turned the water on and sprayed them down into the drain. It was sooo gross. I told a friend that they would probably mutate while they were down there and wait till I'm in there shaving my legs or something it'll come up and take a chunk out of me! I'd be a pile of twitching arms and legs and a head!

Since I was a puppy, my master has adoringly lavished love and affection on me. I would chew her socks, her slippers, her pillows even the legs of the furniture. A stern reprimand would always follow and eventually I figured out that if I didn't do those things she would pet me and cuddle me, even haul me around on her hip and lay my head in her lap as we drove down the street. Well as I've gotten older I've realized how strange my master is, why just last night she fed me a part of a steak and brussel sprouts for dinner. Then poured me a bowl of milk. Then went and watched t.v. She fell asleep so got up to go to bed, mind you, I was already asleep and she woke me up to have me go to another room, just to go to sleep. She tossed and turned all night and finally ended up sleeping on the couch. I got her bed! Oh how refreshed I felt this morning!
