Do you want 7000 points for doing almost nothing? I'm a sad geek who's more than a little addicted to a browser game, you can help me by following the link below and you get 7000 points for your trouble. Here's how it works ...... Follow the link, the website will display a message, cut 'n' paste and send me the message on HP, finally start a 'buy it now' auction for 7000 points, I'll end it. Easy. You don't need to register for the game unless you want to and it'll take seconds to do. Creating the auction is the longest thing. http://s9.bitefight.org/user/bite/174495 If you don't start an auction, or start a standard auction and I get outbid, I'll message you to remind you. But it's upto you to let me know when the new auction is running. I don't have time to chase you up.

My birthday party was fun. I missed my own birthday dinner. It took over an hour to get me home, a 10 minute walk. At one stage I was asleep in the middle of the road. I finally got to my mates porch where I passed out. A stray dog found me and started chewing on my hand, I didn't have sense enough to hit the bloody thing I just kept 'hiding' my hand. Oh well, roll on next year.

I swam with a pod of wild dolphins yesterday, about 14 of them. Some came to within a metre of me, one swam from behind me so close I could have stroked it as it passed. They were playing at biting each other's fins, swimming amongst us. You could clearly hear them communicate with each other! It's only when you see them up close that you realise how big and powerful they are. It was an amazing experience, one of my best in 6 years of diving.

Jolly Roger. At the turn of the 20th century, and despite being the largest Navy in the world the Royal Navy resisted the use of submarines. An admiral at the time stated that 'Submarines were underhand, unfair and damned Un-English'. He demanded that during wartime submarine crews when captured should be hung as pirates. When World War One started, HMS E-9 attacked and sunk a German ship. Remembering the admirals comments, the skipper ordered a Jolly Roger made. This began the tradition of RN submarines flying the Jolly Roger. The picture is of HMS Upholder's flag from WWII. The bars on the left indicate ships sunk, the red bars are warships. The 'crossed guns', top right, indicates a deck gun action. The 'Dagger', middle right, indicates agents or special forces were landed. The 'Red U's', bottom right, indicates U-Boats sunk. Each flag was unique and there were many more symbols used. From aircraft shot down to diving below safe depth. HMS Turbulent (N98) even had a train on it's flag after destroying it with gunfire. When HMS Turbulent (S87) fired on Iraq and Afghanistan during the recent wars, they kept the tradition alive and flew the Jolly Roger when they returned to home port.

HMS Turbulent (N98) 1941-1943 Turbs, as we call her, spent her career in the Mediterannean theatre of war, where she sank over 90,000 tonnes of enemy shipping, including an Italian destroyer and a German U-boat. She was depth charged on over 250 separate occasions. The picture of the crew was taken shortly before she sailed on her last mission, on the 23rd February 1943. It is believed she struck a mine on or around the 11th March, with a loss of all hands on board, a complement of 61 crew. Her final resting place has never been discovered. In recognition of her achievements and the gallantry of the crew, the skipper was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross. Between 2005 and 2009 I served on the 2nd submarine to bear the name HMS Turbulent. Which still carries the battle honour, Mediterannean 1943.
