The sky was dark, the only light came from the full moon shining down on the large forest. The wind blew through the trees and all the animals slept...well most of them anyways.... growls filled the night air as a large pack of wolves ran through the forest, they seemed set on one location, quickly following their leader, she ran quickly, faster then all of the wolves, her ears twitched making sure she could hear no signs of oncomming danger, she had to protect her pack at all costs.
Finally they reached their location. The whole pack stood atop a cliff stairing up at the moon. some of the wolves chose a spot to lay down, others sat and watched their leader. She stood at the edge of the cliff and looked up at the moon, it was so beautiful tonight, and there wasnt a cloud in the sky. she looked out at the forest all the while her ears moving listening to the sounds of animals moving about either sleeping or going on their night hunt.
Suddenly after a few hours went by the wolves that were laying down came to sit by their leader and the ones who were already sitting went closer. they stared at the full moon waiting for the moment when they could praise it.
She looked back at her pack knowing that they were waiting patiently for her order. Knowing the time had finally come she sat down on the edge of the cliff beside one of the elders of the pack. she looked up becoming entranced by the moon and finally closed her eyes and let out a howl. As soon as she howled once the others joined. it was like music in the forest, each wolf letting out a long howl at the same time praising the full moon. She opened her eyes as the howling finally ended and smiled. Tonight went off perfectly. she stood up and looked at the wolves once again before walking down the path back towards the forest. One of the elder wolves nodded to the rest and they began to run after her all of them heading for their cave. Tonight the celebration of the full moon was over but none of them could wait until next month to do it again.
